our story
B Team (est. 2016) was founded as a collaboration between Artist Laura Ryder, Producer Rafia Hussain and Designer Maria Terry. We are a midlands based theatre company that specialises in making narrative-led climate theatre. Our aim is to stimulate conversations on environmental issues and climate change, the defining issue of our time. We work with artists, communities and academics to create new shows.
We have grown out of the holistic artist development offer in the Midlands, supported by In Good Company and Derby Theatre, from the beginning of our journey through to our continued development and growth. Our creative relationship grew organically out of our connections with Derby Theatre, a mutual respect for each other’s creative practice, and a desire to make work which explored environmental themes.
